While at anchor on Tuesday night, my brother Bill was able to get through via cell. Cell phone coverage was near no existent, and yet Bill was able to complete the call. He informed me that our Mom, who has been suffering for several years with dementia, needed to be placed in hospice. Last evening at 7 PM, Mountain Time, she passed away, in her sleep. This was not a huge surprise, but as always a bit of a shock, and a dose of reality. Per her wishes she will be cremated and her ashes laid to rest alongside our father. Out of respect for my travel plans the family will wait until early December, when Sleeping Bear is safely in Florida to hold a memorial service at the grave site.
We arrived in Grafton, Illinois yesterday and plan to move to Alton, Illinois tomorrow. I will provide an update on the last and next day’s moves and adventures soon.
Thanks.
